There can be no "gentlemen’s agreement" with a chronic aggressor like China in the West Philippine Sea.

As we commemorate the 38th anniversary of the EDSA people power revolution of February 22 to 25, 1986, we must underscore the following:
Rep. Edcel C. Lagman of Albay and president of the Liberal Party called on the proponents of charter change via people’s initiative to stop forthwith the “misadventure” because there is no enabling law implementing the process by which the people can exercise their right to directly propose amendments to the Constitution.
The COMELEC has the authority to order local election officers to stop receiving signature sheets on people’s initiative (PI) to amend the Constitution.
