Memorandum No. 2022-0663 dated August 9, 2022 of the Komsiyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) banning five (5) books in Filipino as “subversive” is a liquidation of the freedom of expression which is enshrined and protected by the Bill of Rights, according to Rep. Edcel C. Lagman, the lone authentic opposition in the House of Representatives.

Not known to many, President Fidel V. Ramos was a staunch advocate of reproductive health.

He attended many meetings of supporters of the reproductive health bill, together with his sister, the late Senator Leticia R. Shahani, in designing strategies to facilitate the passage of the then controversial measure.

For the nth time, a bill legalizing divorce in the country has been refiled as House Bill No. 78 in the 19th Congress.

Rep. Edcel C. Lagman, the principal author of previous bills legislating absolute divorce, is finally hopeful that “beleaguered and tormented wives can soon be liberated from irretrievably dysfunctional marriages or inordinately abusive marital relations.”
