The House Committee on Justice has come up with a “magnum opus” of a lengthy and opinionated “Articles of Impeachment” against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

If length is the standard in securing the conviction of the chief magistrate, then the handiwork of the committee meets it.

The “Articles of Impeachment” is a compendium of conclusions of fact and law, instead of precise statements of ultimate facts.

It is a “shotgun” discharge with dud pellets.

It is a virtual memorandum for the prosecution long before the Senate as the impeachment court shall have taken jurisdiction and the parties have rested their respective cases.
