The most improvident, cruel and tragic scam that hit the Philippines was the declaration of martial law by the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos which he used as a means to amass ill-gotten wealth reportedly amounting to US$10-B.
This Marcos scam has spawned another scam which is the Marcos “legacy” scam which promises from the Marcos hidden wealth P1-M to each participating member of the One Social Family Credit Cooperative which had a recent meeting at UP Los Baños Campus.
The event turned out to be a pro-Marcos propaganda where pamphlets trumpeting the “achievements” of Marcos were sold for P30.00 per booklet.
Although Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has distanced his family from the organizers of the Marcos “legacy” scam, there is need to further investigate the ties of the Marcoses with the evidently pro-Marcos group which is affiliated with the Bullion Buyer Ltd. (BBL) which was founded on September 11, 2011, Marcos’ birthday.
The pamphlet on Marcos appears to be an abridged version of the 855-paged compilation “Let the Marcos Truth Prevail” in 2004, with an undisclosed publisher and author, revising the history of martial law with patent falsehoods.
This is the same revisionist strategy of the Marcos heirs to deodorize the cardinal sins of the Marcoses.
